Author's Note: I'm back! This is the second story in my series (see the number
2 at the top?) and it's gonna be a good one! Just wait till things really pick
up pace! Last time I had 9 plots that were developed. Now I have 38. No joke.
We'll work on the first 38 and then I'll see if I want to continue beyond that.
This "season", however, will be from #1 to #15. Don't be surprised if there are
unanswered questions. They'll all be answered evenutally (unless I forget -_-).
We'll be working with the same characters as last time in this story, so enjoy
the story! Trust me when I say they'll get better! Oh, and my e-mail is
nqaqyqrq@gsrc.org (get rid of the q's). Navi's is nqaqvqiq@gsrc.org (once
again, get rid of the q's). Have fun reading!

#2

Sonic slammed the puck into the net. He was now tied even with Tails in
their game of hockey. It was the last period of the game with ten seconds left.
Sonic took the puck down the court. Tails reached in with his hockey stick and
knocked the puck between Sonic's legs and into his net. The game ended. Sonic
walked off in disgust at being beaten by a ten year old. Tails walked up to
Sonic.
"Somethin' wrong, Sonic?" Tails asked in concern. Sonic sat down on a
log and looked at him.
"Just not used to losin' T2, I'll get over it." Sonic told him. Tails
walked off determined to find a way to improve Sonic's mood. Tails walked to
Sally's hut and knocked on the door. Sally opened her door.
"Tails! Is there something wrong?" Sally asked in concern. Tails
pointed over where he and Sonic were playing.
"Sonic's in a bad mood and I wanted to cheer him up." Tails told Sally.
Sally looked at where Tails was pointing and saw Sonic sitting on a log with his
hands supporting his chin.
"What happened?" Sally asked Tails. Tails looked down and backed away
a little.
"I beat him in a hockey game." Tails said sadly. Sally sighed. Why did
he always have to be a glory hog?
"I know Tails, get the next power ring for him! It's due in about ten
minutes anyway!" Sally told Tails happily. Tails smiled.
"Thanks, Aunt Sally!" Tails yelled and flew off toward the ring pool.
Sally strolled over to Sonic and sat down and the log next to him.
"Can't let a kid let a ten year old beat you in a game of hockey, Sonic?"
Sally asked teasingly. Sonic jumped and then settled down.
"That's not the only thing, Sal. I thought we did it. I thought we
could finally go back home and leave the rest of this behind. How could fate be
so cruel!!" Sonic yelled with the last sentence clenching his fists. Sally put
her arms around him.
"Fate has nothing to do with it Sonic Hedgehog. Whatever happens is for
the best. Look on the brighter side! You still have me." Sally told Sonic.
Sonic smiled.
"You're right y'know." Sonic said and they kissed each other. They were
so preoccupied that they almost didn't hear the alarm go off. Sonic turned away
towards the alarm. Sonic picked up Sally and took off towards the entrance.
Bunnie was kneeling by the alarm crying. Sally ran next to her.
"Bunnie! What happened?" Sally asked. Bunnie sniffed and pointed
towards the power ring pool.
"When Tails *sniff* tried to get the ring... he came!" Bunnie said.
Sonic stared at her in confusion.
"Huh? Mind runnin' that by me again?" Sonic asked. Sally gave him a
look and Sonic closed his mouth.
"Who came?" Sally asked. Bunnie looked Sally in the eyes.
"Shadow and I think he took Tails." Bunnie replied. Sally gasped. Sonic
was speechless. How had he found Knothole? He took Tails, too? What was Tails
doing by the ring pool in the first place? The entire village was by the bridge
now wanting and explanation as to what was happening.
Everyone breathed a sigh of relief when Tails came running out of the
bushes with a power ring. Tails looked at the ground.
"I got this power ring for you Sonic. I hope it makes you feel better."
he said. Sonic smiled and had Tails put the ring in his back pack.
"Thanks lil' bro! I'll be needing it, too!" Sonic said happily. "I'll be
needing it to kick Shadow's ass..." Tails gasped and Sally gave Sonic a dirty
look. Sonic smiled sheepishly and changed the last word he said to "butt" and
left it at that.
Tails told everyone his story. He went to get the ring. Right after he
caught it, he heard noises and took cover in the trees. Tails watched in horror
as a black and red hedgehog dived into the water and emerged with the deep power
stones. Shadow clenched them and disappeared. Then Tails slowly and cautiously
made his way back to the bridge to warn Bunnie.
Bunnie took over from there. Bunnie had been sitting on the ground. She
didn't feel like going to the top of the lookout. She jumped when a black
hedgehog appeared in front of her. He told her that he had the deep power stones
and would soon have the youngest of the freedom fighters. He disappeared, giving
Bunnie the feeling that he was about to kidnap Tails. Apparently he had met no
success due to Tails keen security precautions. Still, had Shadow really taken
the stones. Sally walked over to Rotor and told him the details. Rotor led
everyone back to Knothole to explain what had just occured. Sonic picked up
Bunnie and he and Sally ran to the ring pool, Tails flying close behind.
Sonic was about to jump into the water and then shuddered. He hated
water. More than anything else. It was caused by a bad experience he'd rather
not bring up, so he stood to the side. Sally jumped into the lake. When she got
to the bottom, she found that not only was one of the deep power stones gone, but
both were missing. Sally resurfaced, taking a giant breath of air. Everyone
looked at her in apprehension. She was too tired to speak, but shook her head no
instead. Sonic's eyes narrowed.
"That does it! I'm goin' to Robotropolis right now and I'm gonna trash
that black hedgehog like the faker he is!" Sonic said. Sally grabbed his arm.
"No you're not, we need to plan this." Sally insisted. Sonic broke free
of her grip.
"No, we don't. Come on, Sal! If he knows where Knothole is, he could
attack any minute. We've got to go now, before it's too late!" Sonic said.
Sally could see there was no arguing with him. It would just be the four of
them.
Lisa sat listening to Rotor. She had heard enough to know that she had
to act now. Lisa stood up. Rotor stopped explaining.
"Lisa, I'm not done explaining. Could you please sit down?" Rotor asked.
Lisa walked off. Rotor didn't like this attitude. She was stubborn like Sally,
but had an attitude like none other. He let her go knowing there was no stopping
her. Lisa thought for a minute. There was no doubt that Sonic and Sally were
heading for Robotropolis to recover the power stones. This was another possible
P-point as called them.
"Bailin' warp nine!" Lisa yelled and took off toward Robotropolis leaving
multiple Sonic booms in her wake.
Snively had gotten a swatbot factory back together and got them to put
together fifteen new buildings. The machine that had started the coup was
completely functional and being used by him as a main base just like his uncle.
Snively marveled at his brilliance. Those freedom fighters thought they were so
sharp relocating Knothole on the computers back when he turned Sonic against
them. That was great. It had always been he who was closest to defeating Sonic.
If it weren't for those stupid power rings... well, he had taken care of that
now. He saved a backup of Knothole's location on his own personal computer.
That hadn't been changed. After giving Shadow the coordinates, he would have
enough deep power stones to perfect Shadow and give him a backup helper. He had
named this backup Crystal. She was perfect, though she was just a microchip at
the moment, not even a shell. The power of the deep power stone was perfect.
You could choose whether the user of it used the positive energy or the negative
energy. This allowed his creations to be loyal to him through their own normal
alliance. It was perfect.
Shadow had stepped into the room at that moment. Snively turned the
chair that had originally held Dr. Ivo Robotnik around to meet Shadow.
"Well? Did you retrieve the deep power stones?" Snively asked in a
slightly worried voice. Shadow laughed.
"Like takin' candy from a baby. No defense at all!" Shadow said slyly
and threw Snively the deep power stones. Snively stared at them smiling. It
was perfect. He threw one of them back to Shadow.
"Take that power stone and swallow it. The matrix I created when you
were a robot should still be capable of using it's power. You'll be twice as
powerful." Snively told Shadow. Shadow smiled evily and swallowed it whole.
Shadow's skin turned a reflective gray, close enough to silver. He laughed
maniacally. He wouldn't be worn out as easily as last time. His power had
allowed his abilitiy's potentcy to double. Snively pressed a button. The
floor in front of Shadow opened.
"Test run your powers. Jump down this chute. It will test all your
original enhanced abilities along with your new ones. Most of your new ones
can only be used once every twenty-four hours, so choose using them carefully.
If you don't the freedom fighters will get the best of you." Snively told
Shadow. "Piece of cake" Shadow thought and jumped in.
When he landed, fifty swat-bots started toward him. They shot at him,
but Shadow sustained not even a scratch. He stuck out his hand and they all
flew backwards into the wall and shattered. A mechanical voice announced that
level one had been passed. A door opened into a new room. Shadow stepped
through it and the door closed. A metal slab fell down. Right before Shadow
was hit, Shadow took action.
"DDPS control!" Shadow yelled. The slab stopped. Shadow gave it an
uppercut. After fifteen more seconds, time resumed. The DPS control now
worked twice as long. The slab of metal went soaring upwards and was
destroyed by the impact in the ceiling. The mechanical voice came back on
and confirmed that he had passed level two. Another door opened and Shadow
ran through it. He hit a metal block and fell down. He stuck out his hand
and a black light shot out. The metal vanished. The mechanical voice confirmed
he had passed level three. Shadow ran through the next door. There were four
cards behind diamond glass. The mechanical voice started.
"Tell what object is behind each card starting from right to left." the
machine said. Shadow concentrated on the cards.
"Deep power stone, fountain, power ring, and a horrible drawing of
myself." Shadow replied. There was a delay.
"Level four passed. The master says not to insult his drawings anymore.
Shadow laughed and went into the last room. A robot ran away from him. Shadow
could see it was a female echidna. The mechanical voice came to life.
"Take this resistant roboticized life form and erase it's past memories
so it is loyal to our master." the mechanical voice announced. The echidna was
a dark grey. Her dreadlocks reached her waist and she had hair that fell in
almost the same way as Lisa's: in bunches. Of course, this was caused partly
because of the robotization process. Shadow smiled.
"DDPS control!" Shadow yelled. The echidna froze. Shadow placed his
hands on her head. He found her memories. He found that erasing them was not
possible. He looked next to him and saw a diamond. Shadow placed his left
hand on the diamond and transfered the echidna's memories to it. The diamond
turned a greyish color. Time restarted. The echidna stood still, then spoke.
"Awaiting orders, lord Snively." the robot droned. The mechanical
voice confirmed that he had passed level five. Snively came down through a
chute in the ceiling.
"Very good, Shadow, very good!" Snively praised. "The freedom fighters
will be no match for your new level of power!"
Sonic, Sally, Bunnie and Tails had found the war machine all
reassembled. Sonic closed his eyes and stomped the ground.
"All this work we did has gone to waste! Snive-ly's almost rebuilt it
all!" Sonic exclaimed. Shadow appeared in front of the main entrance to the
ship.
"You're right, hedgehog." Shadow said. "It will continue that way even
faster after you've been roboticized to help." Sonic laughed.
"Hey Shutter! When did you spray paint yourself silver?" Sonic asked
sarcastically. Shadow smiled
"Oh... that?" Shadow said. Sonic and everyone else appeared in a
roboticizer. "I did that earlier today with your precious power stone. Of
course, you won't really care about that after you've been roboticized..."
Shadow started up the roboticizer. It was about to start when sparks flew
from the control panel.
"Roboticizer power overload. Funtionality will return in three
minutes." everyone sighed in relief. Sonic tried to buzz saw through the
bottom of the roboticizer, but found it replaced by diamond glass.
"Way uncool..." Sonic said sadly. They would be robots in less than
three minutes...
Lisa stood at the door to the roboticizer room with a handheld
computer. She was tapping her foot impatiently.
"Come on, Nicole! Hurry and crack the code!" Lisa yelled at her
computer. Nicole's lights blinked.
"Chill, Lisa, it's been years since I've done this. Not to mention
that the codes are six digits longer than they used to be and a new encryption
code. You're lucky I can do this in thirty seconds." Nicole responded. Lisa
looked at her watch.
"The machine's functional in two minutes, Nicole..." Lisa said through
clenched teeth. Nicole just beeped.
"In we go..." Nicole announced and the doors slid open. Shadow spun
around to see Lisa. Lisa put Nicole into her back pocket. Shadow's eyes went
wide.
"No, this can't be happening. It's you!" Shadow yelled. Snively was
behind her and whacked her over the head with a lead pipe. Shadow started
laughing, but immediately stopped when Lisa just turned around and knocked
Snively into the wall with her mind.
"Roboticizer operational." the computer announced. Shadow didn't
miss a beat. He pressed the button and a purple light descended on the
freedom fighters. Lisa gasped.
"Quantum control!" she yelled. Time stopped. How could she get them
out? The glass was too hard to break. Then it hit her. She punched the
glass as hard as she could on all four of the roboticizers. In about twenty
more seconds, time restarted. The glass flew backwards and hit the wall.
The freedom fighters quickly crawled out of the glass tubes. Shadow slammed
his fist through the control panel. Shadow then found himself in one of the
roboticizers. He couldn't do a think about it either. It was surrounded by
and extra layer of diamond glass, making the technique the female had just
used useless. Sonic's hand was hovering above the button to the roboticizer.
"Well, Sniv-nose, I'd suggest talkin' real fast or your 'ultimate
life form' here gets the 'bot treatment!" Sonic told Snively. Snively was
sweating all over. "Where are the deep power stones?" Snively laughed weakly.
"I only took one, and it's sitting in Shadow's stomach." Snively
replied. Sonic smiled.
"Then there's only one way to get it back!" Sonic said. He pressed
the button and the roboticizer roboticized Shadow. The lid opened up. Sonic
was about to throw a metal eating balloon from his back pack at him when he
turned back to flesh before Sonic's eyes.
"What? How?!" Sonic asked in astonishment. Shadow was about to
attack when Lisa knocked him backwards. Shadow got up.
"You can't get me this time, female!" Shadow yelled. "DDPS control!"
Time stopped. Lisa came charging at him.
"DDPS control!" Shadow yelled again. Lisa stopped. She was only
two feet away from Sonic. Shadow concentrated and put his hands on Sonic
and Lisa. He tried to transfer Sonic's mind into Lisa's and vice versa, but
couldn't. He had wasted that ability in training. He still had another
seventeen hours before he could use it again. Instead he shoved Lisa to the
right. Time resumed and Lisa went flying through the walls of the room out
into the air seventy stories above the ground. Sonic watched in horror as
Lisa fell to the ground screaming. Sonic picked up Tails and Sally picked
up Bunnie. They both ran out of the room. Snively looked at Shadow in a
disgusted way.
"What are you waiting for?! Stop them! Don't let them get away!"
Snively yelled. Shadow ran out of the room after Sonic.
Sonic had reached the outskirts of Robotropolis. This area was
just desolate, nothing else. Shadow appeared in front of them.
"I see that I can't trap you in a roboticizer. That makes things
too difficult. Fighting in a confined space is annoying. No DDPS control
this time, Sonic. It's all fair fighting." Shadow announced. Sonic
grinned.
"I wouldn't have it any other way." Sonic said and set Tails down.
Sonic dashed at Shadow. Shadow stuck out his hand and Sonic flew
backwards. Sonic coughed and got up from the ground. Shadow was about to
knock Sonic down again when Tails did a slide trip. Shadow fell on the
ground. Sonic ran towards Shadow and used the momentum to do a spinning
body slam. Shadow lurched and coughed up the deep power stone. Sonic
grabbed the stone.
"Thanks Shutter! I'll catch ya later!" Sonic said and ran off.
Shadow may have been normal now, but he wasn't going to give up that easily.
He knew that he still had plenty of energy and that without that female
hedgehog showing up, his winnings would be assured. Shadow warped space and
caught Sonic in the side. Sonic went sprawling to the side, the stone
leaving his hand. Shadow dived for it, but missed due to Tails picking it
up. Shadow stuck out his hand and, using his mind, ripped the stone from
Tails' grasp. Shadow swallowed it again and returned to his silvery form.
Sally tried a flying side kick at him, but he ducked. Sally quickly reacted,
interlocking both arms under his and using her momentum to throw him over
her head. Shadow went sprawling on the ground. Sonic tried to body check
him, but Shadow knocked Sonic away the the wave a hand. Sonic got up and he,
Sally, and Bunnie charged at him. They were all thrown backwards at the wave
of a hand. Tails began flying in circles around Shadow. Shadow began to get
dizzy. Shadow closed his eyes.
"You will all pay for this..." Shadow said weakly, mainly from the
dizziness. Shadow held out both of his hands about to attack, but then fell
to the ground and started puking. The power stone came out yet again. Tails
picked up the stone. Shadow snatched it from him and swallowed it, returning
the third time to his silvery form. Shadow smiled weakly and got to his feet
shakily.
"You all... will pay... for attacking... the ultimate life form."
Shadow said heaving. Shadow held out both hands again, and fell to the
ground. A burst of green light shot into the air and the smog in that area
disappeared. Lisa stepped out of the shadows into the scene.
"What do you say we get that stone back?" Lisa asked Sonic. She
walked over to Shadow. Shadow reached out and grabbed her leg.
"DDPS control!" Shadow yelled. Sonic knew what was about to happen.
He ran over to Lisa's outstretched hand and grabbed on. Nothing seemed to
happen. They were all still there, but let's go into that space warp...
Shadow reached base in about five seconds. He was now five times
faster than Sonic and had fifteen seconds until time restarted. Shadow
looked at his captive and noticed the stowaway. Sonic was glued tight to
Lisa's hands. That was OK. All he had to do was make the injection. Shadow
grabbed a needle and injected it into Lisa. He only had six seconds left.
He couldn't do Sonic, but that was okay. Lisa was the real threat at the
moment. Shadow ran back to where they had been before and got back into his
original posistion. Time restarted. Shadow acted astonished.
"What?! Why didn't I space warp?" Shadow exclaimed. Sonic let go of
Lisa's hand.
"Maybe you didn't yell loud enough?" Sonic suggested sarcastically.
Shadow could barely keep in a smile, but he instead frowned.
"I must prepare for our next encounter. DDPS control!" Shadow yelled
a lot louder and disappeared leaving a familiar stone behind for no obvious
reason. Lisa got a sudden light headed feeling, but it went away quickly so
she dwelt on it no more.
Lisa was getting a shower. The smog and grime from Robotropolis got
you more than dirty after being in it for only three minutes. She finished
and grabbed a towel. After drying, she put some fresh clothes back on and
went to the mirror to comb her hair. She gasped when she looked in the
mirror. Her dark pink skin was more of a concrete color and her blue hair
looked blue gray. In fact, all of her body was turning more and more grey
every passing second. She felt extremely tired and decided she would go look
at what was happening to her tomorrow. Perhaps it was a result of the trip
she had taken three days ago... Lisa got into her bed and fell immediately
to sleep.
Lisa woke up with a start the next day at the screaming of Sally.
Lisa jumped out of bed and ran to the area where the scream had come from.
She walked into Tails' hut and found a shadow colored silouhette of Tails
on the ground. In white chalk on top of the shadow was written the word
"Shadows". Lisa looked closely at the hand writing. It seemed familiar,
but she couldn't place it.
"What happened, princess?" Lisa asked with concern. Sally didn't
look up.
"Tails is missing and this is in his place. A shadow with no clue
of his whereabouts. Just a shadow with no source and the word 'Shadows'."
Sally replied in awe. Sally looked up at Lisa and gasped. Lisa gave Sally
a strange look.
"What's wrong, sis?" Lisa asked. Sally turned Lisa around to
look in her mirror. Lisa gasped.
"Omygosh! I look as pale as a stone!" Lisa said in fright and
astonishment. "This happened last night and I thought I would be back to
normal by today! I remember I was so tired..." As Lisa said this, she once
again felt a sudden lack of energy come upon her.
"I'm sorry, SSSSallly..." Lisa said weakly. "I need to go back to
bed." Lisa laid down on Sally's bed.
What was going on? It isn't normal for a person just to suddenly get
tired at the mention of the word. At that moment, Lisa's eyes popped open.
Her body was black and white now. Lisa grabbed Sally and pushed her to the
ground. Sally was about to scream, but she found that she couldn't. Lisa
had written with her finger a letter 'S' on her feet. Sally struggled, but
lost the energy to do so. The letters 'S','h', and 'a' were written across
Sally's legs. As Lisa wrote, Sally felt herself sinking into the floor.
With each passing second, she felt her conscious thought slipping away into
nothingness and no will to resist was left. Lisa got up from the ground and
walked back into her hut. Next to Tails' shadow was now one of Sally with
the writing "Shadows" across it.
Shadow walked back to Snively smiling. What a great stunt. The
freedom fighters wouldn't know what hit 'em. With the power of both deep
power stones at his disposal, he could now beat the female hedgehog when she
wasn't ready for him. At this point, at least one of the freedom fighters
was a shadow and most likely two were. Lisa was totally under his control
allowing him to enslave all the freedom fighters without the old school
roboticizers.
Shadow went up the elevator and walked into the war room where
Snively once again was staring at his domain. Snively turned around.
"Where are the freedom fighters?" Snively asked irritably. Shadow
looked at the ground.
"They escaped, Snively." the hedgehog replied. Snively seemed annoyed,
but went on to the next question.
"What of the deep power stones?" Snively asked. Shadow smiled.
"One next to Crystal, the other in me." Shadow said. Snively nodded.
"Well, now we must plan our next line of attack..." Snively said.
Shadow held up a finger and waved it.
"Not yet, master. Remember the unsucessful shadow formula we made for
Crystal?" Shadow asked. Snively sighed in an irritated way. How could he
forget? It had backfired in the exact same way as the roboticizer. It
changed the robot into a black and white version of themselves that did
whatever it was commanded. It didn't have the AI to make the robot aware of
it's options.
"Yes." Snively said. Shadow cracked a grin.
"I used it on the dark pink hedgehog." Shadow said. Snively's mouth
dropped open in surprise, then quickly became an evil grin.
"You can't be serious, that will destroy them! Can we develop a
control module for it?" Snively asked Shadow. Shadow nodded.
"In just a couple minutes." Shadow replied. Snively jumped out of the
chair and the two villains walked to the inventions lab.
Sonic was relaxing on his bed. The window was open letting warm air
flow into the room. Sonic closed his eyes. He could almost imagine being
back in the outdoors of Mobotropolis getting a chili dog at the little food
shack there.
Sonic felt a rush of air fill the room. Sonic opened his eyes and
sat up. He took a quick look around the room and saw nothing. He laid back
down and heard Bunnie scream. Sonic jumped out of bed landing in his
sneakers and took off to Bunnie's hut. When Sonic got there, he didn't see
anyone. He looked along the walls and then saw a shadow. A shadow of
something that wasn't even there. A shadow of Lisa.
At that moment, the shadow stepped out of the wall taking on the form
of a black and white colored Lisa. Sonic's eyes turned wide and then narrowed.
"I knew you were behind this from the start!" Sonic yelled at Lisa.
Lisa held out a finger and tried to start writing on him. Sonic took a step
back. Lisa closed in and Sonic started running circles around her. Lisa just
stood there silently then fell through the floor. Sonic saw shadows where she
had just fallen through. The shadows separated showing the forms of Tails,
Sally, Rotor, Antoine and Bunnie.
"Way uncool!" Sonic said to himself. The shadows surrounded him and
closed in. Sonic fell through the floor into a roboticizer looking device,
except without glass around it. Sonic was about to run off when he yelled in
pain. Thousands of small needles had just poked him in the feet.
Snively lowered into the room from the ceiling. He stepped off his
small vehicle and walked over to Sonic.
"Well, well, hedgehog. It seems I have finally done what my uncle
could never accomplish and more. I have destroyed the last resistance of the
freedom fighters." Snively said. Sonic laughed.
"I'm still here Snive-ly!" Sonic said laughing. He stopped when
Snively produced a syringe. "Gee, I'm scared now! You actually think you can
catch me and stick that in me?"
"Actually, hedgehog, I already have. When you were poked upon your
arrival, you were injected with a unsucessful attempt in creating a loyal
slave with 'free will'. This version puts you under my control. In fact,
this improved version should start working any minute..." Snively said. Sonic
didn't believe any of it. He felt fine.
"If that's true, show me someone else you've used it on." Sonic said.
Snively pulled out a intercom.
"Lisa! Come forth!" Snively yelled. A shadow appeared on the ground
and the image of Lisa came up from it. "Lisa, what is your full name?"
"Lisa Alicia Acorn." she replied. Sonic gasped, not from the example of
power, but from the fact that Lisa had the same middle and last name as Sally.
"Oh yeah? Bet you couldn't make her break dance!" Sonic said. Snively
spoke into the intercom, and Lisa began to twirl around on the floor. Sonic
laughed and clapped.
"Way past!" Sonic said. "Bet you couldn't make her change herself and
the rest of the freedom fighter's back to normal!"
"Lisa!" Snively said into the intercom. "Change you--" Snively stopped
and glared at Sonic.
"Lisa..." Snively started again. "Fight Sonic to the death when I give
the command." Sonic's eyes went wide.
"Tired." Snively said. Sonic suddenly felt very tired. Sonic resisted
it. He felt his focus slipping away into nothingness. "Fight Lisa to the death
when I give the command." Sonic didn't question the command very much, but still
was able to slightly resist.
"Now." Snively said. Lisa charged at Sonic. Sonic gave up resisting and
allowed his body to do what it felt like doing. He could resume trying to beat
Snively later. The end of the freedom fighters seemed to be at hand.
Sonic dodged a tackle by Lisa, but held out his foot and made her trip
into the wall. He tried to cut her in half, but Lisa jumped and did the splits
in mid-air and kicked Sonic in the back while coming down. Sonic almost lost
his balance, but steadied himself just in time for a roundhouse kick from Lisa.
Sonic fell flat on his back and Lisa tried to crush his face, but Sonic rolled
out of the way just in time. Snively decided this was taking too much time.
"You both hate each other to no end. You feel you must exterminate the
other no matter what the cost to your own well being is." Snively yelled into
the intercom. That was Snively's first mistake.
Lisa stood there. Sonic started to spin dash at her. Lisa side stepped
and Sonic hit a wall. Sonic jumped to his feet and tried again. Lisa smiled.
"Quantum Control!" she yelled. Sonic stopped in his tracks and Snively
flew into the wall in shock. Snively slowly stood up from the impact.
"How?!" Snively asked in anger. "You are under my control! You can't do
anything unless I tell you to!" Lisa smiled, her eyes half closed.
"Wanna bet?" she asked and grabbed the intercom out of Snively's hands.
"I command you all to be free of the shadow formula!" Lisa's color returned to
normal. There was no trace of the other freedom fighters anywhere, but it was
obvious that they were somewhere else.
"Let me tell ya somethin', Uncle Snively." Lisa whispered in Snively's
face. "You're the nicest person I know where I come from, but you're rotten to
the core right now. I have a word of advice for you: Never try to turn
someone against who they care deeply for. It fails every time."
Lisa backed away, picked up Snively and threw him in a chair. She ran
circles around him causing the chair to spin in fast circles and then she and
Sonic took off. Sonic ran back in.
"Hey Snive-ly! Might wanna put your shirt and pants back on!" Sonic
said and ran off after Lisa again.
We will now back up to the room that Shadow and the freedom fighters were
in right after Lisa's release of the shadowed freedom fighters. Shadow was
sitting in a chair. There was no longer a need to guard his master, they had
everything settled and had watched Sonic's final demise from a TV screen in the
corner of the room. Shadow then watched as Snively flew into the wall and Lisa
freed the freedom fighters. Shadow turned around to face the shadows. The
shadows jumped back into shape and stood in the flesh before him. Shadow's eyes
went wide. Sally stared directly at Shadow.
"Get that power stone of his!" Sally yelled. Antoine dashed at Shadow,
unsheathing his sword. Shadow barely avoided the blade and was astonished at
Antoine's ferocity. He could already tell that the freedom fighters were going
to be a lot harder to beat this time. Shadow held his hands and the air and
quickly brought them down to his side. A wave of energy repelled them all in
the opposite direction. Bunnie ripped a side of the building out with her
robotic arm and threw it and Shadow. Shadow floated into the air to avoid it.
Tails attempted to make Shadow dizzy again. Shadow closed his eyes and
knocked the fox away before any harm could be done. Sally ran up to him.
Shadow tried to knock her away, but she dodged his psychic focus. Sally slid
between Shadow's legs and did an uppercut into Shadow's groin. All the men in
the room winced as Shadow slid to floor in tremendous pain.
"A invincible guy like you doesn't have balls of steel?" Sally asked with
a grin on her face. Shadow just groaned. It was too painful to say anything.
"I won't give you the pleasure of having me sing soprano tomorrow." Shadow
said through clenched teeth. Shadow was surrounded with a white light and he
jumped to his feet.
"No more harm don...ughh..." Shadow said as he once more slid to the floor
in pain. He may have saved his future love life, but the pain was still there.
Sally showed no mercy. She socked him in the stomach: hard. Shadow coughed up
the deep power stone and returned to his normal black self.
"Where's the other stone, black boy?" Sally asked. Shadow groaned.
"Wouldn't you like to know, sister." Shadow replied. Sally moved her fist
towards his groin again.
"You wouldn't like to become black girl, would you?" Sally asked. Shadow
held up his hands in defeat.
"Lowest floor, fifth chamber." Shadow responded. Shadow returned to the
floor still moaning in pain as the rest of the freedom fighters took a trip to
the lower floor.
Sonic and Lisa were running through the halls of the building.
"Are you sure this is the way to the spare power stone?" Sonic asked for
the sixth time since they had left. Lisa sighed.
"Trust me, bro. I can tell these things." Lisa replied. They ran through
a chamber with trashed swatbots, a weight, a room with four cards behind glass,
and arrived at a room with a crystal sitting at the end.
"What's that?" Sonic asked. "It doesn't look like a deep power stone."
"It's emitting some kind of energy," Lisa replied. "I suggest we take it."
They grabbed the crystal and immediately they saw glowing eyes in the
darkness.
"PRIORITY ONE: HEDGEHOG." a female voice droned and the same echidna from
earlier started to shoot at Sonic.
"Lisa! You get the stone, I'll hold off the... echidna?!" Sonic was
surprised. Echidnas hadn't been seen for centuries. They were thought extinct!
Lisa listened to Sonic. She cut through a metal door in front of them and
entered a fifth room. She grabbed the deep power stone off a pedestal that was
sitting right next to a microchip. She took the microchip and threw it down a
sewer pipe in the room. Sonic and Lisa took off at Sonic speeds, preventing the
echidna from knowing exactly what to do. Sonic met the others at the entrance.
Sally tossed Sonic the deep power stone.
"How'd you get the stone?" Sonic asked Sally. Sally smiled at Sonic.
"I hit Shadow where it hurt." Sally replied. Sonic winced.
"You mean..." Sonic said and shuddered. "I'm hurting thinkin' about it!
Let's get back to Knothole!" With that, the freedom fighters took off on a long,
but uneventful journey back to Knothole.
Everything seemed normal back in Knothole. The deep power stones were
back in the ring pond, the Robotropolis memory banks were wiped clean thanks to
a smart move by Rotor during the fight with Shadow, and everyone went to take a
good night's sleep. There hadn't been one for the past couple days.
Out in the forest a strange light appeared and a portal opened up. Out
of it fell a black clothed fox with charcoal black skin and white face and stomach
hair. He had a black bandana around his head and a mask about his face. All you
could see of him was his eyes, which glowed like fire.
"It looks like I made it to the right place, let's hope I can find her and
put this all to rest. If I don't, my name isn't Ryoga Matsumoto!" Ryoga said

and stealthily made his way towards Knothole...
