Well, its about time! Here we finally have our first look at Episode 2 in action, and its looking real good. Graphically you could say it hasn’t changed much, but Tails’ abilities seem to help out Sonic in a number of ways, and of course Metal Sonic is back as the main villain. Looks like Episode 2 is coming along pretty well, so keep checking back for new trailers and of course a review of the game when it releases May 16th!

View CommentsNew Sonic Film In the Works?

    January 19th, 2012 by

Earlier today, Yuji Naka, former head of Sonic Team and series co-creator, teased the possibility of a Sonic film in development. The tweet posted is in Japanese though, and many translators come up with all different kinds of results. Danny Russell, a japan based reporter helping out TSSZ News posted an accurate translation of Mr. Naka’s tweet.

“Marza Animation Planet is made up of members from VE R&D (http://sega.jp/corp/saiyo/csjob/ve.shtml), which is a division he had a hand in creating. It looks like they’re working on a Sonic movie. Their offices seem nice, and they have a screening room / theatre there.” (Source: TSSZ)

Who those who might have forgot, Marza Animation Studios (formerly Sega VE Animation Studio) is the same team that produced the Sonic: Night of the Werehog short and also helped out on the CGI work in Generations, Colors, and more. Many other translations also state that Mr. Naka is simply working on ‘Sonic-related footage’. So, do we have a film on its way to the big screen, another 15-minute short, or CGI work on the next Sonic title? Your guess is as good as mine.

    January 17th, 2012 by

[UPDATE (again)]: Sonic 4: Episode One is live at Steam now, pick it up for $10! Episode Two will also be released on home computers along with its console counterparts.

Although not officially confirmed by Sega, the chances of Sonic the Hedgehog 4: Episode Two on PC is likely. Recently the ESRB rated Episode Two with an E for Everyone rating, ready for release on Windows PC, PlayStation 3, Windows Phone, and Xbox 360. It appears to be even more likely as Episode One was discovered on the Steam registry a few weeks back. Seeing as how Generations was released on PC after previously being added to the registry, it wouldn’t be too surprising to see Episode One follow suit, and maybe even Episode Two. It would make sense for Sega to bring Sonic the Hedgehog 4 onto Steam as a whole, with Episodes One and Two to boot. As usual though, we’ll have to wait and see to know for sure!

View CommentsJaleel White set to host upcoming Syfy Game Show

    January 11th, 2012 by

Jaleel White, the blue blur’s voice actor in the animated cartoons, will be hosting SyFy’s next game show, but with a surprising twist. Total Blackout will have contestants complete various tasks, but in complete darkness. That’s right, pitch black will be all the contestants will see once the games begin, with spooky surprises to be thrown into the mix.

Mark Stern, Syfy’s President of Original Content states that “Total Blackout brings to life, in a wonderfully clever, intense and funny way, what can happen when your imagination runs away with you.” Crawlers like tarantulas and other arachnids will also be some of the objects used to scare the contestants. “Really the biggest surprise will be the contestants behavior, whether they maintain their composure or not, because the darkness brings out something in all of us,” White states in an interview.

Will you tune in to Total Blackout when it premieres on October 18th this year? At least you can keep the lights on…
