Did I say Friday? I meant SATURDAY! Oh, Stephen, you awful, awful liar.
I can’t think of a better way to say it, “I’M FINALLY DONE WITH IT!”
Actually… I just had to stop. I really wish I could go back and fix some things, but… I’m late enough as it is, I need to get the next page ready, and I have home work and other crap that needs to be done….
I just really messed up on this one, I was having a lot of scaling issues that I kept going back and forth with, I had to go back and clean some line work… shading is… meh… electricity was… different… need to work on motion lines…. probably a million other things…
Eh, at least the fourth panel looks kind of cool… Swatbots are really hard to work with when body movement is concerned.
Gonna rest… and then get back to the next page. Hopefully it wont take me a billion years.
Later guys.
Stephen.
I agree: the fourth pannel looks spectacular.
Since it’s so close to Monday as it is…couldn’t you have just pushed everything back a week and released this one in a few days? I mean, I don’t see anything wrong with it despite what you pointed out, but it seems unreasonable to expect to have the next page done in 2 days anyway. And honestly, I don’t know about anyone else, but after the Easter page was posted, I wasn’t expecting another comic this week anyway…
You know, seeing the SWATbots go down so easily all the time makes me wonder how it was that Robotnik conquered the world in the first place…
LOL, but man… those bots really were trashed, knew it. Also this looks bad, not that it could, nope I’ll bet that it can.
Zephyr that name means ‘Strong Wind’ I wonder… no, no but no. It probably does hint at something but I don’t want it to.
Also this page isn’t that bad, the electricity effects are better than some I’ve seen are.
@ Storm Spotter:
These War Claws are highly-trained military operatives using unusually high-grade weapons (even the Freedom Fighters never procure EMP technology), ones specifically designed to counter mechanized threats.
By comparison, nearly all of the inhabitants of the Acorn Kingdom at the time of The Coup were civilians without any combat ability, as Julian’s robots formed the military by that point. Said robots were already ingrained into society and struck simultaneously without warning.
Surrounding nations were likely already crippled from the Great War, especially since Max was confident enough in lasting peace to order the disbanding of the military.
By the time Robotnik moved on the rest of Mobius, his power base in Robotropolis would have been solidified, with factories constantly producing more and more soldiers. Being able to effectively replace lost troops all but assured his victory in the long run.
Something tells me Robotnik supplied them (dunno why im saying that) or they are supplied by the enemy (Overlanders i presume?)
@ Uncle Ben
I was just thinking the same thing about Robotnik, actually. It makes sense, anonymously strengthening the enemy in order to worsen the conflict, forcing Max to become increasingly reliant on him.
It’s rather similar to how in Star Wars Palpatine engineered the Clone Wars to play out in such a way that his power was maximized.
Noooooooooo! Not the SWATbots!!
Curse you War Claws for killing my fave characters!
Man…this just brings back that excitement that I’ve always had for the next episode back when SatAM was on the air
Aaaand the SWAT-Bots were completely useless because of ‘drama’.
If there’s one thing I hate, it’s villains that smile most of the time. I mean, I get a bit of a fanatical grin when I’m being a sinister bastard too, but their smiles are always just ‘lol im better then u’…
At least when Robotnik’s smiling it’s genuinely offputting, it’s a classy smug smile that means you’re gonna suffer large very soon.
When most villains do a smug smile, I just want to punch their teeth out. It’s not entertaining.
“Aaaand the SWAT-Bots were completely useless because of βdramaβ.”
No, I think taken with Nicole’s question of where the War Claws got that technology, it looks like the Swatbots were “useless” to show what the War Claws can do and to foreshadow something. If so, this scene exists to move the plot forward, not simply create “drama.”
Zap-a-de Zap Zap Double D.
Does EMP Darts stand for Electromagnetic Pulse Darts?
@ Captain Sorzo
Actually, if I recall correctly, didn’t Rotor rig up something close to an EMP Projector in one of the episodes? They used it to cause a Stealth Bot to crash.
I believe that was just a really powerful magnet.
@Storm Spotter
@MarbleDidymus
Episode: Game Guy
Sonic: “Hey check this…a toaster!”
Sally: “OMG sonic, that’s a magnetic field generator!”
Sonic: “You mean it’s not a toaster?” “Then what’s it do?”
Sally: It’s a really strong magnet.
I love how excited Sonic was to think he found a toaster.
I agree, panel #4 looked awesome! π
Finally some kick-ass movement in the comic again! π Love the page and especially the spark/smoke effects in the 4th panel so I don’t see anything to be improved.
@Uncle Ben
Yep, think so too…
@Yesterday Mail
I’m feeling the same way as you about it but I think that it adds a lot to an evil character. That’s why I ‘love’ Dr Robotnik as supervillain during the original SatAM show.
@SciFi_addict
Exactly! He’s badass. Most other characters are not.
Oh yea, Julian DEFINITELY supplied these guys with those darts.
Way too obvious.
In a word… awesome!
I have to say, the artist for this comic is very talented. They get emotions down amazingly. I just had to give a compliment to them.
Huff… I FINALLY CATCHED UP!
Jep. Julian doing the Palps.
