The air pirates are a group of mostly-dim witted men who enjoy plundering and engaging in 'piratical proceedings'. The captain of this crew is a brilliant (though eccentric) man by the name of Don Karnage (roll the 'R'). Karnage varies from calculating and cruel to comically silly, but he never loses his enormous ego, his pride in his career of piracy, or his fashion sense.
Mad Dog and Dumptruck are by Karnage's side constantly. Mad Dog is a skinny whiny pirate who sometimes likes to mutiny against the captain and is probably one of the smarter pirates, though this isn't saying much. He is never away from his best friend, the large and less-than-intelligent Dumptruck. Often appearing alongside this trio is Gibber, an advisor, who whispers his thoughts in a listening ear.
Baloo is a cargo pilot for the business 'Higher for Hire'. It was formally his own establishment until it got foreclosed by the bank, along with his airplane, the SeaDuck. He is now currently working for Rebecca Cunningham, the women who purchased his lot from the bank. Baloo is a laid-back guy who loves to party, hunt for treasure (and sometimes women), sleep and just enjoy the simpler things in life. His main passion is flying, therefore, one of his main goals is to make enough money to buy back his plane from Rebecca.
Baloo is often criticized as being lazy, irresponsible, rude and ungentlemanly. Though good-hearted at the core, he sometimes has to be pushed to do the right thing. In the end, he always pulls through for his friends.
Rebecca is a young businesswoman who owns a small cargo business called Higher for Hire. She's a determined, no-nonsense lady, always concerned about her business's success. Her over-the-top ideas for money-making often fail and drive Baloo crazy, but the business manages to stay afloat. Though the business is important to her, she puts the needs of her friends and family first.
She has a daughter, Molly, but currently no love interest, not that she hasn't tried! She and Baloo constantly squabble...but they really do care for each other.
Kit Cloudkicker is a 12 year boy who was orphaned at a young age. He eventually joined up with the Air Pirates but only stayed with them for a year or so before bumping into Baloo. A large adventure ensued that resulted in Kit staying with Baloo and settling into a more normal life. He is a tough yet sweet kid who's love for his 'Papa Bear' and 'Miz Cunninghman' and all the rest of his new family is unwavering. He is also intelligent and level-headed, and quite talented with his airfoil...a sort of surf-board of the air.
Molly is the rambunctious daughter of Rebecca Cunningham. She inherited her mother's shrewd intellect and the ability to get people to do what she wants...most of the time. Molly is hyper and a handful to most people, but she does have a sweet side.
Louie the orangutan is the owner of 'Louie's Place', a combination nightclub, gas-station and hotel for pilots. He is very easy-going, upbeat and always willing to go chasing after girls or treasure. He makes a mean Krakatoa sundae and has great pride in his establishment. He and Baloo are best friends.
Wildcat is the mechanic for Higher for Hire. He is basically a mechanical genius...able to fix just about anything, with sometimes rather strange methods. This is about as far as his genius extends however, WildCat is usually not the first to get a joke or come up with a brilliant plan...to put it this way, he's a bit slow. However, you could not meet a sweeter, more lovable guy. He is great with kids and adores animals.
Shere Khan is the brilliant businessman behind Khan Industries, the cooperation that seems to monopolize most of Cape Suzette. Khan Industries dominates the gas industry, and many of the imports into the city, like spices and other foreign goods. They also support Cape Suzette's military. Khan comes across as a cold man. He is always stoic, emotionless and very severe. He is at the top of his league and he knows it. Khan hates to be in debt and loathes to lose a profit. He is not a man to cross.
Colonel Spigot resides in the frozen militaristic country of Thembria. He is the leader of the Thembrian Air Force, though he hardly has the credentials; it was a mistake in paperwork that landed him the job! Spigot is a somewhat unbalanced man who would love to declare war on the City of Cape Suzette 'swine'. He's also quick to declare people will be shot if they disobey him and always dumps any blame to him on his poor loyal Sergeant, Dunder.
Spigot is constantly being mocked because of his small stature...and everyone always gets his name wrong. Yet, the Colonel still retains a large ego, always assuming people have 'heard of him.'
Spigot's 'official Thembrian notepad'. Whatever. Basically, Dunder hangs around Spigot and does a lot of the Colonel's work. Dunder is, unlike a lot of the other Thembrians, a very sweet and gentle-hearted guy. He's kind of timid and gullible, and very loyal to the Colonel, often offering to take the flak for the Colonel's mistakes.
