Sorry for the wait, I’ve been a little busy with getting my class finals started, and along with that and trying to figure out how the lighting would work in this page. I’m guessing I may be a little late on the next two pages due to the finals thing, so if that’s the case, I’ll throw out some sketches I have lying around on my computer or something just because.

Every few months, Saber, you put out a page that sets an even higher benchmark for your art. This is one of them. Simply fantastic work; the lighting was very well incorporated and ties everything together, adding an extra layer of atmosphere that certainly fits the story. Best of luck on finals.
Loving how all the cultures that were briefly alluded to in the original series are being tied together.
The only downside to this week’s update is that now I have to contend with the mental image of Chief as a three headed leprechaun. *Shudders* Thanks a lot.
Well we know she can’t die yet, Sally has not been born and Nicole is recording all this after it happend so she’s safe so far.
Yet it still leaves the question of who is screaming down there though.
P.S. Loving the SWATbots being so helpfull and on the side of the Mobians in this flashback (I know its just a facade put up by Robotnik but its still pretty cool to observe)
Something bad is going to happen in the next page (maybe an explosion). How do I know it? It happens every time that a dialogue in the last panel ends in dot dot dot.
Is it just me or is the writing getting a lot more complex than in the original series?
Also I don’t have anything to say about the artwork: Captain Sorzo has said everything I would have said, only a thousand times better.
As Death Of Ink pointed out, Nicole cannot die here. It would have had to happen after sally was born… Maybe she died of birth complications?
Or what if she never died?
What if she was transferred into the machine, in a similar way that Ben Hurst intended NICOLE to be?
I think it’s going to go the way Ultimate Hammer Bro says mostly because the comic is aimed at carrying out Hurst’s excellent vision. Can’t wait to see how it happens.
As for who’s screaming, I’m thinking of who’s parents have we not seen yet? Maybe Bunnie’s? Tails’? Sonic’s? Sonic and Sally are the same age after all….
I found this site less than a week ago and I’ve already read all of the comics. The art is beautifully detailed and convey’s emotion incredibly well. The storyline is so engaging I can’t ever stand waiting for the next comic. It far surpasses the original. The design is flawless. This is actually the first comic I’ve ever read because whenever I see something by DC or Marvel, it looks so complex and jumbled, while this is simple and flows so smoothly; it’s easy to digest.
In short, I love all your work. Thanks for continuing SatAM, I’ll definitely be joining the community and sticking around for a while.

It’s not possible. This scene took place in the Great War Era, before Sally was born. Remember that this is a flash-back, where Nicole make a message for her future daugther.

It can’t be Bunnie, Sally or Sonic and certainly not Tails, they were not even born yet.
It’s clearly a time-traveling Antoine. “It is ze Curse! Ze doomed Curse!!!”
Also, it was confirmed months ago (see the comments for the last page of Chapter 4) that Nicole’s story is NOT based off of Ben Hurst’s plans. The writer had this in mind before that information was made public and ultimately chose to stick with it.
Well, we’ve seen Rotor’s grandpa and both of Antoine’s parents. Someone else mentioned on a previous panel, all of them must have been connected to the royal family somehow (except for Tails because he wasn’t born until Robotnik’s rule, but I’d still like to think his parents have a connected backstory) because they were all cared for by the royal nanny when they first fled to Knothole.

Maybe Sonic’s dad fell into a booby trap? I wouldn’t put it past you guys to think up something like that….
Or maybe Robotnik and Snivley secretly went into the cave and got caught in something.

Uh Oh something big and most likely bad is coming up next, just the way this page is set out. I do love the fact that all these different cultures are been related and hinted at though, all spun together to make it fit.
I wonder who screamed, for all we know it could possibly be any of the others parents after all they all do have some connection to the Royal family so I can’t wait to see who it may be.
