Hmm…I’m honestly not sure what to think of Snively’s design here. It works well in its own right, but is also a drastic departure from his previous appearance. I suppose the appropriateness of the design is contingent on the direction in which Gojira intends on taking the character.
Of the two main villains in SatAM proper, Snively was by far the more sympathetic, and his design reflected that, allowing him to come across as both evil and pathetic, a being to be at once loathed and pitied. Sea3on has thus far preserved this aspect of his character, painting him as someone whose drive to prove his worth has increasingly driven him out of his depth.
The Snively here looks decidedly less human, less pitiable. He looks at least a decade older, a haggard creature more consumed by overwhelming obsession than his uncle ever was. It is a design that is well suited for an entirely unsympathetic take on the character, but, if the writer intends on portraying him as anything less than a complete monster, his appearance needs to be dialed back into something more traditional.
I have to agree Captain Sorzo in all points. Snively looks like a zombie in the second panel, which absolutely doesn’t reflect his character. Of course every artist interprets characters on their way and adds their style, but it just doesn’t fit here.
Snively is, in my opinion, still the short bald guy, in a fight for respect and power. He hasn’t achived both things as Julian did. He is still moving in Robotniks shadow.
I would guess that Snively is getting increasingly desperate to gain some extra power for himself. Naugus would betray him in an instant and he knows it, so he’s working himself to death trying to stay ahead of the game. I can see where the artist is going with Snively more ragged appearance, but yeah, he really does look more like a zombie now…
I like how Snivley looks. The stress of dealing with the FFs, and with Naugus… combined by his obsession now with the chaos emeralds… and the fact that he probably is not getting any sleep, not taking care of himself, not eating properly… yea this looks about right.

Awesome comic and story as always but Snivelly is a little too ott here, we want him a little more subtle.
