Crash!
Okay so this isn’t the finished version of these strips just to let you know. Steven had to ink them all in last week, which is what you see now. This week he is colouring them which he finds easier then inking. So you should see a Sea3on page on time next Monday.
But in till next Monday we will just enjoy this short story
See you tomorrow,
Paul
First time making a comment but here goes:
Hey paul just a random question, why not having two aritsts instead of one? I know the style of the comic would vary alot but wating every week for a one page comic is just, well, tiresome. I can’t image how long it would take for the project to actually be done. But I really appreciate the job you guys have done so far and I’m really happy to witness my favourite cartoon being brought to life once again. As far as I’m concerned, having a comic is far better than having no comic at all, and in the end you guys decide what you think is the best for the future of season3.
There are a few reasons why we only have 1 artist.
1) Years back (like 10 years ago under the first owner of FUS) there was a Season 3 comic. Getting issues and pages out for it was a pain, mostly because of the amount of staff. In fact there were too many people working on the comic that things actually wouldn’t get done. Thus the comic eventually died.
Before I took over the website with John, the owner before us was trying to make a comic himself. But, same problem. Lots of staff, but nothing got done.
Sure having 1 guy ink and 1 guy colour or just even finish would be great. However..Another reason is money. We pay our comic staff out of our own pockets. FUS costs a lot of money to run after server costs, staff payments and so on. Having another artist is just out of our budget and with no real money coming into the site (seriously the ads get me like 10 bucks a month, and total amount of donations so far is under $100). Not that I’m complaining, all donated money is great and extremely helpful. I’m extremely grateful to those who have chipped in to help. But in till I can find a way to get FUS to make more money..I can’t hire new staff.
I would like to pump out more then 1 comic a week, but that isn’t going to happen any time soon for those reasons.
As for this week there is no comic, but that’s because I want Steven to pay attention to his final projects right now in college. College is a tad more important then this comic. We will be back to our proper schedule by this coming Monday though.
